Adoption Stories
Meet Oakley’s New Family
Labradors are known for their wonderful traits, and Oakley is no exception. JC and Tom’s first encounter with Oakley occurred at a local brewery outreach event organized by Big Ugly Brewing and Reba’s CARE Team. It was heartwarming as Oakley, our cherished Black Labrador, displayed his timeless charm and friendly nature.
Previously residing in a rural shelter with limited resources, Oakley was transferred to Reba’s Adoption Center, and upon learning of his unfortunate diagnosis of heartworm disease, JC and Tom made a heartfelt commitment to providing Oakley with the love and lifelong care he needed to thrive. A kind-hearted anonymous donor from Reba’s Veterinary CARE Fund generously sponsored Oakley’s heartworm treatment. Currently, Oakley spends his days bringing joy to JC and Tom with his playful antics and unwavering companionship, whether lazing around the house or exploring the garden.
“Oakley is a welcome addition to our family. Goofy, loving and oh – SUCHAGOODBOYYESYOUARE! – we can’t thank our new friends at Reba’s (and the nice family who sponsored him) for bringing so much fun into our home. How could it not be a big love match – we met him at a brewery (thanks, Big Ugly!).”
Meet Cisco’s New Family
The Cabreras, still healing from losing their beloved dog, found new hope and happiness in Cisco. Cisco, a 6-month-old puppy born in a rural community as part of an accidental litter of puppies, captured their hearts.
The Cabreras met Cisco at Reba’s Adoption Center, where his adorable nature and playful energy immediately won them over. Cisco found a new family with four children. Together, they are creating love-filled memories and building a bond that promises to last a lifetime.
“It’s been over 2 years since we lost Peaches and I could just feel the softening happening..then we saw this handsome boy at Rebas Animal Rescue. Not only is he gorgeous but he is gentle, sweet, full of love, and I feel like we hit the lottery being blessed enough to rescue him! He came from a family of kids and dogs that had to surrender him when they got in over their heads keeping a whole accidental litter their dog had. I’m thankful for their decision to let him find a new home because we are so grateful to have him.”
Meet Georgia’s New Family
Rescued from an overcrowded shelter through a partnership with the Lincoln Memorial University Veterinary School Shelter Medicine Club, Georgia found refuge at Reba’s Adoption Center. From the moment she stepped through the door, Georgia’s friendly nature won over everyone. So, when Terri visited Reba’s in search of a canine companion to provide comfort and friendship during a challenging time of transition, we knew instantly that Georgia would be the perfect match.
Looking at their pictures, it’s clear that both Georgia and Terri have found immense happiness in each other’s company. At Reba’s Adoption Center you can adopt your best friend!
“Avery (formerly Georgia) is settling in, we have been settling in together. Avery is so sweet, she is a lap dog for sure a big love bug. We are working on her fear of jets and thunderstorms. Avery has a canine companion Bitsy, an 8 year old shih poo. They are great buddies. I couldn’t have been matched with a better dog. She’s my joy.”
Meet Macho’s New Family
Macho was one of the first kittens available for adoption at Reba’s Adoption Center. Choosing a new furry family member can be daunting. Macho’s family took the time to introduce themselves to this adorable kitten. They visited Reba’s Adoption Center several times, spending time with Macho in our homelike interaction rooms, playing with him, and making their decision as a family. We are so happy for them!
“Adopting our cat Macho from Reba’s Animal Rescue was a smooth and pleasant process! From an accurate description about Macho, to quickly and easily setting up a meet-up, we were impressed with the staff at Reba’s and the facility itself. They also sent us home with a cat bed, treats, toys, and Macho’s favorite spot in the world, a window perch. They checked in on us even after brought him home. So thankful for Reba’s in helping us easily bring home Macho – he has greatly enriched our lives!!”
